Does Pressbook upload my photos?

Not to a Pressbook server. Curation, layout, editing and export run on your iPhone or iPad. Shared memories travel through your iCloud. No Pressbook backend stores or reads your pages. No discovery feed.

Do I need an account?

No, and there is no way to make one. Open the app and start. Guests you share with do not need an account either.

What is actually free?

All 249 layouts, 593 stickers, 81 filters and 70 fonts, plus collages, carousels, reels, video, sharing and Memory Capsules. The free tier caps albums at 20 photos, exports at screen resolution, and adds a small Pressbook watermark.

What if I do not like it?

Delete the app. No account to cancel, nothing uploaded to Pressbook. You only pay if Pro is worth it later.

Will a printed album actually look good?

On Pro, pages render at up to 600 DPI with print-safe margins and full-bleed. Free exports at screen resolution. Upgrade when you send to a lab.

Can I edit an album after I make one?

Yes. Swap photos, change the layout, redraw a page. The project file stays on your device.

Does it work offline?

Create, curate, edit and export completely offline. Sharing invites and Handoff need a network and your iCloud. Purchases go through the App Store.

Reels turn finished collages and carousels into short videos for Stories. A collage becomes a layer build-up; a carousel becomes a continuous swipe. Albums export PDF, page images, a project file or a live share instead. Reels are free.

What is a Memory Capsule?

A sealed album, collage or carousel that cannot open until a date you choose. Invite people or open a public link. On the day, everyone opens it together and reactions land on the memory.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. One app for iPhone and iPad on iOS 18+, with landscape layouts. Finger drawing is free. Apple Pencil pressure tools are on Pro.

Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Pressbook → Cancel, at least 24 hours before it renews. Lifetime never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
